What do you eat for breakfast?
Most overweight women with hormone imbalances and screwed up metabolisms when asked, "What is your diet like?" Most of them reply, "Well, sometimes I'll go all day long without eating until I get home."
BAD. People. VERY BAD! Your body hates you for this and it is retaliating against you. Enough said.
If you want to have a fired up metabolism that works for you all day long then you need to get out of bed and eat breakfast.
Need an idea for breakfast? Here is one of my favorites. It makes me feel like I could fly! AND I feel full and satiated for 3 hours at least.
1. Steel Cut Oats:
You can find these in quick cook and frozen. Otherwise they can take a long time to make.
No matter what kind I have though, I make a LOT and just eat it throughout the week.
2. Oatmeal/Rolled Oats:
This is the easiest thing in the world to make. You can either eat just oatmeal instead of the steel cut oats or you can do what I do and toss in a small handful of oatmeal into the Steel Cut Oats after theyre hot which gives it a nice texture.
3. Almond Milk:
This is an optional addition. I like to pour this over top if my oats come out to thick and it adds a nice flavor. It also cools it down a bit
4. Ground Flaxseed: for your Omega 3's, flavor and texture
1 Tbs
5. Rice Bran: Great for your digestive system.
I will spend an entire post talking about this superfood. You MUST make stabilized Rice Bran a part of your life.
1 heaping table spoon
6. Blueberries: For Antioxidants and flavor
As many as you want. ORGANIC PLEASE
7. Maple Syrup: To add the sweet (Optional)
A drizzle.
Other alternatives and probably better ones to be honest are stevia or agave
ORGANIC PLEASE
Do NOT use Aunt Jemimah's or Log Cabin. Understand? It should already be gone from your cabinet.
8. Himalayan Sea Salt or any sea salt: To add the salty (Optional)
Use sparingly
9. Earth Balance Soy free butter: For a buttery taste (Optional)
A tsp
10. Walnuts/almonds or other nut: To add the crunch and also a great source of healthy fats (Optional)
Not too many please
And Ta-da!!! You have a delicious and nutrious Breakfast that you can be proud about!!!
Not all ingredients are pictured here and I forgot about the cinamon. Of COURSE that makes everything yummy! That tablespoon of stuff is the rice bran. Also, I have gluten free oats, but you can get the quaker oatmeal. That's like what? a buck fifty for a huge container? Just do what you can.
Have this with your Black Currant Juice (see earlier post) and Vitamins
If you have a hearty Appetite cook up a cage free egg and have one of those too.
This entire meal is about 350 calories depending on the ingredients you use (I usually use them ALL) and you'll feel like you ate 2000. NOT lying.
Most of these things you can buy in large quantities and they will last you a month depending on how often you eat this for breakfast.
It takes 5 mins MAX to make.
I will spend more time offering healthy breakfast alternatives to what you are eating before I move onto any lunches and dinners. Oatmeal is NOT your only option. What else do you like. Sausage? Waffles? Pancakes? Omelettes? Bacon? Pop Tarts? There are healthy and Nutritious ways to eat ALL of this!!!
Let me also say that this food is flavorful and DELICIOUS. Your tastebuds will eventually be trained to where eating anything that isn't real will be very unpleasant. You can actually taste chemicals. Not lying. Ask anyone who eats foods in their natural state. They will agree.
Alright! Cheers to healthy breakfasts and to meals that make you feel alive and well!!!
Please comment or post any of your favorite healthy breakfasts and share them with everyone!
Went shopping today and bought some of these items, just couldn't find the rice bran(don't think I knew what I was looking for). Any thoughts on blueberry juice? They didn't have black currant so I grabbed this instead.

Hey Toni! I'm not positive about blueberry juice, but because blueberries themselves are so readily available...your best bet is just to eat lots of those! :) And you may save on calories. It also depends what's in the juice. Hopefully 100% organic blueberries. There is also blueberry concentrate. It's a liquid that is so concentrated you can just put a tablespoon or two in your oatmeal or smoothie.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the rice bran...you should definitley be able to find it at your local health food store. Just ask a worker for stabilized rice bran. You can also google it to get an idea of what to look for. Good luck to you!!! Make sure when you make your oatmeal to be sparing on the toppings. The most important things to have are the oats, the flax, the bran, and the blueberries. The rest is indeed beneficial to your health in some way, but is also a place to spare cals.
